Transformation of the homeless youth of Johannesburg from a life of crime and drugs into a meaningful contributor to the community by using the medium of art to re-establish self-esteem and the gift of relationship to restore hope and ultimately the reality of dreams to bring restoration in every way possible
hArt Ghontjie pronounced "gon-chie" is street slang for the "diggs" or "Pozzi".
This is a house project where some of the boys get to stay on the premises.
The boys are provided with beds, warm water, and three meals a day, loving prepared by our house mother.
Homeless youth on the streets of Johannesburg is a reality and a problem.
hArt Day Centre was established to address this concern and has developped
into a Public Bennefit Organization aimed at re-establishing the self esteem
of street-kids and offering them a drive and purpose in life.
hArt EduCare is where we support learners with education.
We currenty have Carl in Junior School, Ben in High School and Sibongamandla
attending the University of Zululand - pursuing a degree in teaching.
